At the February Monthly Mingle, YPW rolled out "Enhance CommunitYProject". Through Enhance CommunitYProject the Young Professionals of Wichita will develop and organize an annual community service event which will focus on enriching the Wichita area while providing the members of YPW the opportunity to give back to the community. Dear Young Professionals:

Making Wichita a healthy place to live continues to be a top priority of the Health & Wellness Coalition of Wichita. A healthy community is important for our individual and collective quality of life, as well as critical for a productive and globally competitive workforce.

As a young community leader you are invited to the first public presentation on Thursday, March 26 at 8:00 a.m. of the results from the Health & Wellness Coalition’s Healthy Wichita perception survey.

Join us for breakfast, a brief presentation, copies of the results and a discussion with other community and business leaders. The presentation and report will review the results and let the group know how the Health & Wellness Coalition will be using this information to further the mission of increasing physical activity and healthy eating.

The Health & Wellness Coalition of Wichita in partnership with the Wichita Community Foundation secured funding through the Kansas Health Foundation for the survey to be conducted. Coalition members include business, non-profit, government and others dedicated to improving the health of our community.

YPW Event with Visioneering

Jon Rolph explaining Visioneering to a group of YPs. The "Review, Revise, Refocus" project Visioneering is currently undertaking to further advance south central Kansas.

This meeting was one in a series of 20 meetings to reintroduce citizens to our long range plan; celebrate successes and engage new thoughts or directions. Some of the leading thoughts centered around downtown revitalization; parks, recreation and open spaces and Arkansas River beautification and amenities for improved river usage.

Team Mosaic has assembled an excellent panel to discuss how diversity issues have affected their personal and professional lives including a discussion on the challenges of recruiting a diverse workforce.

The panel includes Brian Black, Spirit Aerosystems; Victor Scott, Westar Energy; and Michlene Tucker, McConnell Airforce Base.
